A PHYSIOTHERAPY practice in North Weald has joined an organisation that helps reduce employee sickness in the workplace.
The Forge Physio, in Bassett Business Units, Hurricane Way, has linked up with Physio Med – a national group which focuses on treating employees as quickly as possible to cut costs for businesses by shortening staff absence.
High-profile business clients on the books of this organisation include the Department for Work and Pensions and high-end supermarket Waitrose.
Forge Physio has a team of two physios and a cognitive therapist, and boasts international athletes among its clients.
From now on it will be called upon to treat corporate clients serviced by Physio Med.
Joseph O'Connor, who runs Forge Physio, is pleased to build an association with the national group, which is headquartered in Leeds.
The move will likely mean increased custom for his practice, which was set up six years ago.
He said: "We are delighted to be joining the Physio Med network and look forward to treating new clients alongside our existing clientele."
Mark Fletcher, clinical director of Physio Med, which has business clients with up to 180,000 employees, echoed Mr O'Connor's feelings about the new arrangement.
He said: "We only want to work with the very best and most talented chartered physiotherapists.
"We apply stringent criteria to any practice that wishes to join our network and Forge Physio more than met those requirements."
Physio Med works with than 2,500 senior chartered physiotherapists from 750 hand-picked practices.
For businesses, they offer a guaranteed four-hour physio call our service and an assessment within 48 hours.
They also work with physiotherapist practices in Shenfield, Ingatestone and Billericay.
