It's aprons on and sleeves up this week for the children and parents at Kiddi Caru's Colchester Day Nursery, as they get baking for National Baking Week and its charity partner for this year, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
Every day at 10.00am parents and carers are coming in to the nursery to take part in baking activities with their children. Some of the sweet treats on the menu include scones, cheesecake and shortbread. The delicious cakes and biscuits baked during the week will be sold to help raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Jennie Gregory, Nursery Manager, said: "The children have been looking forward to National Baking Week, they love making cakes and also eating them of course. I'm sure as well as selling them the children will also be testing a few for quality control purposes! Great Ormond Street Hospital has over 192,000 visits from patients every year, many of which require intensive or high dependency care, so we're very pleased to be able to do our bit to help the hospital continue its wonderful work."
