An investigation is under way after two men from Chelmsford were assaulted and robbed while sat in a van in Southend on Saturday morning.
The victims, in their 20s, had money, mobile phones, a watch and the keys to the black Vauxhall Vivaro stolen during the incident in Warrior Square between 3am and 3.45am. They suffered minor injuries, police said.
The assailants were described as black and aged in their early 20s. They were about 5ft 10ins tall.
The suspects were last seen to be running across Warrior Square car park towards Queensway.
