A cyclist has died following a collision with a car on Swan Street, Sible Hedingham, near to the junction with Cambridge Road yesterday evening.
The cyclist, 23 and from the local area was travelling towards Halstead, around 9pm, when he was in collision with a Ford Fiesta being driven by a 20 year old man from the Halstead area travelling in the same direction.
Ambulance crews treated him at the scene before he was taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.
He died this morning with his family at his bedside.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident and anyone with information is asked to telephone the Serious Collision Investigation unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.
