Chelmsford City have confirmed that Mark Hawkes will be in charge for next season.
Hawkes and his assistant Steve Smith arrived at Melbourne Park from Heybridge Swifts in November with a task of keeping the Clarets in the Conference South.
And the club have now confirmed that the pair were told that if they avoided the drop they would be handed the opportunity to stay at the helm.
Hawkes said: "I am absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to carry on as manager as it means we have achieved our first objective of securing Conference South football for the club.
"Steve and I have lots of plans for next season and I fully expect the club to be fighting it out at the right end of the table."
