THE driver of a lorry that overturned and blocked a Maldon road yesterday has been reported for careless driving.
The incident, which occurred on Lower Burnham Road in Cold Norton at around 10am, involved a yellow DAF tipper truck that was loaded with sand and travelling from G&B Finch's quarry in the nearby village of Asheldem to DP World on the A13.
The road was closed between North Fambridge Road and Kitts Hill Road for at least four hours while the two recovery vehicles uprighted the lorry and engineers cleared the sand.
The driver, who police confirmed today has been reported for careless driving, sustained only minor grazes in the incident.
