THREE men leapt into a woman's car and threatened to stab her before stealing the vehicle.
The men targeted the 54-year-old woman from Braintree as she reversed her BMW in the car park of Feering Primary School in Coggeshall Road, on Monday, October 15.
After jumping into the vehicle, they threatened to stab the woman if she did not get out, before speeding off in the car, which contained the victim's mobile phone and iPad.
Police later found and chased the stolen car in the Basildon area.
A spokesman said: "Enquiries revealed that the BMW 116 was in the Basildon area and was found in Laindon an hour later following a police pursuit."
He added: "The victim was uninjured but is still recovering from the shock."
A 19-year-old man from Leyton, East London, was arrested and released on bail until December 20.
Officers are still looking for two other men believed to have taken part in the robbery.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
