Eurovision: Comedian Russell Brand congratulates winner Conchita Wurst

Drag act Conchita Wurst shocked Europe last night by winning this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The Austrian entrant, also known as the 'bearded lady', scooped 290 points for her song, Like a Phoenix, and was awarded the maximum 12 points by 12 countries. However, comparisons have been drawn between her appearance and that of Essex comedian Russell Brand. And the funnyman poked fun at the similarities himself on his Twitter page last night after Conchita's victory was confirmed.

Wearing a dark green skirt and with cigarette in mouth and left thumb up to the camera, he tweeted, simply: "I'm knackered - but what a great night." He later thanked girlfriend Jemima Khan for his styling.
