Hello there, and welcome to my new golf blog.
A little about me… well, I'm a sub-editor working on Local World's newspaper titles across the south east, and more to the point I'm a golfer.
Well, after a fashion… long on enthusiasm, but short on talent.
I'm not a member at any club, and don't have an official handicap, but at the moment I'm aspiring to play off 20. And failing, for the most part, but hey, that's golf… or at least my experience of it!
I've decided to set up this golf blog because I love the game even though I'm pretty bad at it, and I thought it would be fun to share my experiences, good and bad, with fellow fans of a good walk spoiled.
In the coming weeks I'll be uploading my musings on anything from who's going to win the next major to course and club etiquette as the mood takes me.
I'll also being uploading some free video clips with tips on how to improve aspects of your game.
But it's my fervent hope that this will become a collaborative section, so don't just listen to what I think… I want to hear from you, the legions of amateur golfers out there beating to me to the most convenient tee-off times every weekend!
Disagree with something I've said? Then post your comments.
Learned a new tip that's really working for you? Share it with us! Found a little gem of a course off the beaten track? We'd like to know…
You can either post comments directly onto these articles, or email me at simon.leek@essexchronicle.co.uk
Look forward to hearing from you soon… and happy hacking :-)
