Hundreds of runners will descend on Great Baddow on Sunday to pound the streets for charity. The Edmund Carr Great Baddow Charity Races will take place at 11am, starting from the recreation ground. More experienced runners can test their mettle with a 10-mile course, while those looking for a more relaxed fitness test can try the two-mile fun run. Sign-ups on the day will be accepted from 8.30am until five minutes before the start of the 10-mile race. The 10-mile run will start at 11am, while the fun run will set off at 11.10am. The event, which is in its 30th year, is set to cause congestion on the roads around Baddow Road, Beehive Lane, Galleywood Road and Watchouse Road from 10am until 12.30pm with a 20 minute road closure at the White Horse Public House junction starting at 12.25pm. Money will be raised for Chelmsford & Colchester YMCA Young Carers, Chelmsford MIND, Essex Young People's Drug & Alcohol Services (Children's Society) and League of Friends of Hargrave House. Runners can also run for their own chosen charity. For more information, visit www.baddowraces.org.uk
