ESSEX is leading the way in the economic recovery, according to Prime Minister David Cameron.
At Prime Minister's Question time earlier today Mr Cameron said: "Where Essex leads the rest of the country follows".
This was in response to a question from Witham MP Priti Patel on the economy and the falling unemployment rate in the county.
The PM used Essex as a example of the Coalition's economic policies pay-off and as a justification for a continued austerity programme.
