A Chelmsford man has walked free from court after admitting selling drugs at V Festval last year.
Dione Doyle, 18, of Skinners Lane, admitted at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday (June 17) to one count of possessing 1.5 grams of cocaine with intent to supply on August 17.
The court heard how Doyle and another man had concealed the Class A drugs in their underwear and were acting suspiciously as they approached the festival entrance at Hylands Park.
A police dog indicated they had drugs on them and they were searched.
Doyle was found with the narcotics, £300 cash and two mobile phones.
Recorder David Altaras told the teenager would be sentenced to three years in prison if he had not pleaded guilty at an early stage and had he not been 17 at the time of the crime.
Instead Doyle was given an 18 month jail term suspended for two years with a supervision requirement, education and training programme for 30 days as well as a curfew for three months to remain indoors from 7pm to 7am every day.
Doyle will also have to pay a £100 victim surcharge and the £300 confiscated by officers will be seized.
An order was also made for the drugs to be destroyed.
