A MAN who was arrested in connection with the murder of Nahid Almanea in Colchester has been released from custody.
The man, aged 52, was arrested on Tuesday, however he was today released and has been "positively eliminated from police enquiries", an Essex Police spokeswoman said tonight.
Nahid Almanea, 31, of Woodrow Way, in Colchester, was found on Tuesday (June 17) on a footpath on land off Avon Way just before 10.40am with severe head and body injuries.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Ms Almanea, who was Saudi Arabian, was living in Colchester while she studied English at the University of Essex.Anyone with any information that could assist the enquiry is asked to contact the Major Investigation Team on 01245 282103, Essex Police on 101 or they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
