Tamworth suffered their second successive defeat as they were beaten 2-1 by Braintree.
Goals from Michael Gash and Dan Holman were enough for Braintree to move up to 10th.
Gash gave the home side the lead in the 21st minute, arriving late at the back post to force the ball home from close range.
Tamworth were back on level terms 14 minutes later through Adam Cunnington's smart finish from 12 yards.
Gash could have netted his second in the 54th minute but he could only head wide with a free header.
Braintree took the lead again after an hour as Holman netted from the penalty spot.
Holman could have added a third in stoppage time, but his curling effort from the right drifted wide of Tony Breedon's far post.
