A teenager arrested in connection with the Essex Police investigation into the killing of Saudi Arabian student Nahid Almanea in Colchester has been released from custody.
The 19-year-old was detained yesterday (June 20) on suspicion of a separate alleged assault on a female jogger near Peache Road in Colchester on Thursday night (June 19).
He was then also arrested in connection with the murder investigation.
But he was released in the early hours of this morning (June 21).
An Essex Police spokesman added: "No further action against him is planned in respect of either the murder or the assault as he has been eliminated from both enquiries."
