An "utterly parasitic" celebrity blogger confronted former X Factor judge Tulisa after being turned away from an after party at last year's V Festival in Chelmsford, a court heard. Vas Morgan was hoping to gain access to the event in order to furnish his blog with stories, Chelmsford Magistrates' Court was told today (July 2). Singer Tulisa Contostavlos, 25, is on trial accused of assault in relation to an alleged confrontation at Hylands Park last August 18. Co-defendant Gareth Varey, her personal assistant, is accused of using threatening, abusive and insulting words in the same incident. The court has heard Mr Morgan was attempting to leave V Festival at around 12.30am when he was confronted by former NDubz singer Tulisa. Following a heated exchange he claims Tulisa then punched him in the face leaving him with a puffy, swollen eye. But during her closing statement, Arlette Piercy, defending Varey, said: "He was trying to get into an after party where he hoped to get better stories for his blog. "As a celebrity blogger, whatever that means, he is utterly parasitic on the lives of others in his world it's all about what parties you've been invited to what parties you haven't been invited to. "In his world it is all about image you hob-nob with the stars for useless tittle tattle to add to your blog. "Imagine his image after being rejected from an after party." Jeremy Dein, defending Tulisa, said Mr Morgan's allegations formed part of a "vendetta" against her, which stemmed from an incident in October 2011 when she asked security to remove him from a VIP area at London nightclub Whisky Mist. Mr Dein claims the alleged victim published a sex tape involving Tulisa by putting it on his blog alongside lewd allegations. Mr Dein added: "His reputation to him is everything. He is a mere blogger and is desperate to mix with celebrities. "The incident is nothing more than a protracted playground argument." The case has been adjourned until July 25 at Stratford Magistrates court.
