What time does the Tour de France arrive in Essex?

The Essex leg of the Tour de France will take place on Monday, July 7. The route, starting from Cambridge, travels through Uttlesford and Braintree, Chelmsford and then Epping Forest, before heading towards Loughton and north east London. Roads affected by the route will be closed for most of the day from 7.30am. See here for more details on road closures The race is estimated to arrive for its Essex leg at 12.42pm, leaving at 2.55pm. The caravan travels the route just over three quarters of an hour before the race itself and takes just over 30 minutes to pass. The race, including the peloton and support vehicles, takes slightly more than 30 minutes to pass. Those living nearby are expected to see more traffic than usual.
