A person has been hit and reportedly killed by a train at Chelmsford station tonight.
All lines are currently blocked and delays of up to 60 minutes are expected, according to Greater Anglia.
A tweet from the UK Railway Chaplains, posted at 10.30pm reads: "Police advised report of a #fatality! person having walked off the end of the platform at #Chelmsford thoughts with all affected."
A statement on Greater Anglia's live updates page reads: "An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed."
Trains were already experiencing delays of around 30 minutes after a train failed between Ilford and Seven Kings stations at around 6.40pm tonight, causing delays and cancellations as other trains had to route around the stopped service.
Update at 10.55pm - lines are now re-open at Chelmsford station, but delays are still estimated to be around one hour.
