CCTV appeal after man exposes himself to woman on Liverpool Street train to Witham

POLICE are hunting a man who exposed himself to a woman on a train as it pulled into Witham before fleeing the station.

Police want to speak to the man pictured on CCTV in connection with the "intimidating" incident on May 17 which took place on the 2.32pm London Liverpool Street to Witham service. 

PC Sue Lissimore, from BTP Colchester, said: "A woman boarded the train at Stratford at 2.50pm and sat in the first carriage. A few minutes later a man walked past her and stood by the train door.

"She soon noticed the man staring at her, which made her feel uncomfortable. He then exposed himself to her.

"The train pulled into Witham and she shouted at him. He fled the train, left the station and the woman alerted station staff who tried to trace the man without success."

Now BTP is calling on the public to name the man in these stills, who may have information about what happened. In addition to reviewing CCTV, officers have liaised with local police and interviewed witnesses.

PC Lissimore added: "This incident was very intimidating for the victim, and I want to commend her for reporting it to staff at the station, as well as police.

"We do not tolerate any offences of a sexual nature and are doing everything in our power to identify the person responsible and deal with them accordingly."
