BRAINTREE Town boss Alan Devonshire has said that finding a new centre-back is his main priority.
Since losing Dean Wells to Stevenage in June, Devonshire has struggled to replace the 29-year-old.
Devonshire said: "I am working hard on it, but it is not easy because it has to be the right player. There is no point just bringing someone in who doesn't fit with us, but it is something that we are looking at.
"My main priority is to get a centre-half and maybe we are three or four players short at the moment. We are still looking around and we have got some fresh faces to come in for the Southend friendly on Saturday."
