This was the scene in B&Q after a rack collapsed in the Chelmsford store during opening hours.
Part of the Cuton Hall Lane store was cordoned off after shelves, containing bags of sand, toppled to the floor at around 11am on Tuesday (July 15)
Fortunately, there were no shoppers browsing the area at the time. The store has since opened an investigation into what caused the incident.
Onlookers said "at least half the store was closed off to the public".
A spokesman for B&Q said: "A small area of racking collapsed at our Chelmsford store on Tuesday 15 July.
"There were no injuries and we are investigating the incident."
