A motorist was taken to hospital after a two car collision in Rivenhall.
Police said the 52-year-old man from Braintree collapsed shortly after his Vauxhall Zafira collided with a Volkswagen Passat on Church Road at around 6.50pm on Saturday (July 19).
Officers were called to the road's junction with Rickstones Road.
The man's collapse was not directly caused by the crash. His wife, who was in the car with him, was uninjured.
The driver of the Passat, who was also from Braintree, was later reported for driving offences, an Essex Police spokesman said.
