MARK Hawkes has strengthened his defence with the signing of Marvin Ekpiteta.
The centre-back has joined the Clarets after spending two years with the Oxford United Academy set-up.
The 19-year-old has also previously been called up to the Nigerian U20's squad in 2013.
After some decent pre-season performances at Melbourne Stadium, Hawkes has decided to sign Ekpiteta for the upcoming Conference South season.
