Police investigating the fatal stabbing of Hassan Mohammed in Southend have made two further arrests.
A 17-year-old man from Westcliff-on-Sea was arrested on Tuesday (July 22) on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries to report back on August 14.
A 40-year-old man, from Southend, was arrested on the following day (July 23) on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
He is currently being questioned by detectives at Southend police station.
Police have also recovered a blue Peugeot 307 car which had been seen in the vicinity of the murder.
It was found at an address in Southend and has been taken for forensic examination.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Werrett said: "The investigation into Hassan's murder has made a great deal of headway and I would like to thank the people of Southend for all their help and support.
"It is in large part thanks to them that we have progressed so well."
