Firefighters had to be called to a building used as a pre-school after the roof caught fire this morning (July 25).
Two crews from Chelmsford and one from Great Baddow were called to Chelmer Village Way in Chelmsford at 6.42am after the roof of Chelmer Village Hall caught alight.
Using two main jets and one hose reel jet, the fire was put out by 7.18am.
The building is used by Rainbow Pre-school.
