For years, Navestock resident Harold 'Boysie' Porter was a regular at the Remembrance Day service in Brentwood.
This year, however, the 90-year-old former Essex Regiment soldier was conspicuous by his absence following his death in a fire at his home in Snakes Hill on November 4.
In this short film, made by filmmaker Ted Donnelly before Boysie's death, the veteran recalls his wartime service, which took in North Africa, Italy and Burma.
