THERE was disappointment for Hayley McLean after she was disqualified in the Commonwealth Games 400m hurdles.
The Chelmsford Athletic Club runner finished fourth in her heat of the first round, running a time of 57.80.
However, the 19-year-old then discovered that she had been disqualified from the competition after a hurdling violation.
Even though her time would not have been quick enough to see her through to tomorrow's final, it was a disappointing decision for the youngster in her first Games.
McLean's heat was won by Jamaica's Kaliese Spencer in 55.45, who also qualified fastest overall, just over a tenth of a second quicker than Scotland's Eilidh Child.
