Thousands turned out for events to mark Remembrance Sunday around Essex.
In Brentwood, there was a veterans' parade from the Town Hall on Ingrave Road to the memorial located at the junction of Shenfield Road and Middleton Hall Lane.
At 11am the Royal British Legion Youth Band played the last post to a crowd of hundreds, before observing the 2-minute silence.
Afterwards, the parade continued and was concluded by a memorial service held at St Thomas of Canterbury Church in St Thomas Road.
Brian Kitchener of the Royal British Legion, who served in the Royal Engineers and the Territorial Army, said "I was very pleased with the turnout and the weather was absolutely marvellous".
Meanwhile in Billericay, as at least 2,000 people including families with their young children were present to commemorate the Glorious Dead on Billericay High Street.
Veterans and Cadets paraded the High Street, ending up at St Mary Magdalen Church, where there was a 30 minute service at the cenotaph. Town Councillor Jules Botazzi said "I thought the service was very moving.
