CHELMSFORD'S Rebecca Gallantree has won a surprise gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Competing with partner Alicia Blagg in the 3m springboard synchronised diving, the pair pulled off a winning routine in the final round, the only time they had the lead.
The had moved up to second after the fourth of fifth rounds and then toppled Canadians Jennifer Abel and Pamela Ware with a dive that scored 72.54, the highest of the final.
Blagg looked shocked as she looked at scoreboard as they got out of the diving pool and had to point out to Gallantree that they had won.
