A MAN was seen climbing over a gate then trying to break into a house and a shed in Braintree.
The attempted burglary happened in Station Road at about 4pm on Tuesday, September 2.
A suspect described as white, tall, slim and aged between 40 and 50 was seen at the rear of the property where he tried unsuccessfully to break into an outbuilding and the ground floor window of the house.
He was said to have dark hair but 'bald on top' and was wearing a dark top, blue jeans and white trainers and was carrying a black record bag.
A man of a similar description was seen on CCTV a few streets away. He was heading towards Braintree town centre.
Investigating officer DC Michael Pannell said: "We would like to hear from the man or anyone who can identify him to establish whether he had been in Station Road."
Detectives have issued two CCTV images of a man they wish to talk to in connection with the incident.
