A 24-year-old Maldon man has appeared in court accused of trafficking and prostitution charges.
Unemployed Gheorge Negreanu, of Wycke Hill, pleaded not guilty at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court today (October 9) to intentionally facilitating travel of a person with view to their sexual exploitation, managing a brothel used for prostitution and controlling prostitution for gain.
Police were called to an address as part of a nationwide crackdown running throughout October on crime linked to trafficking including prostitution, forced labour, abuse and exploitation.
Negreanu was remanded in custody at the end of the hearing to re-appear before Chelmsford Crown Court on December 15.
