Police have identified the victim of a fatal head-on crash on the A414 in Maldon last night (October 9) as 67-year-old Michael Post.
Mr Post was travelling in a blue BMW 320 with a woman when it was in collision with a blue Renault Clio at about 7.45pm.
Mr Post, the woman and the 17-year-old male driver of the Clio were taken to Broomfield Hospital suffering serious injuries.
Sadly Mr Post, who lived in the Maldon area, died from these injuries.
The road was closed to secure and preserve evidence whilst officers investigated the crash.
