THE iconic Coca-Cola truck is coming to Moulsham Street as Christmas celebrations kick off on Saturday.
Thousands are expected to descend on the city to catch a glimpse of the truck, revel in the festivities and watch the Christmas lights switch-on.
The Coca-Cola Company personally contacted Chelmsford City Council to see whether they would like the truck to visit the city this Christmas, and Mike Wray, Chelmsford's city centre manager, was delighted to announce plans to have it in Moulsham Street.
Chairman of Moulsham Street Traders, Jayne Gayer, said: "Holidays are coming to Moulsham Street, especially now we have the Coca-Cola truck, it is fantastic news.
"We were honoured to be chosen to have the truck in our street, and Mike Wray generously organised for it to come to us.
"We are very grateful to have such support from the council.
"But our entertainment does not stop there, we have a whole day of activities planned, a parade and market stalls."
On Sunday, festivities will continue in the High Street and the Christmas lights will be switched on at 4.45pm.
