WITHAM TOWN'S Ryman Premier clash with Metropolitan Police was abandoned with six minutes to play on Saturday due to torrential rainfall throughout the afternoon.
Town were 2-1 down at the time, but the referee called the match off as it had been pouring with rain since half-time and players were finding it hard to stand up.
James Stevens scored Witham's goal and Michael Charles both for the Police before he was stretchered off after falling awkwardly in the mud.
Chances galore were missed by both sides in the conditions as the pitch became a quagmire and the game a lottery.
The match will be replayed.
