JOE PEARMAN'S late penalty salvaged a point for Heybridge Swifts as they played out a 1-1 draw with Thamesmead Town on Saturday.
Tyrus Gordon-Young put the visitors ahead in the 14th minute at Scraley Road and it seemed that Swifts would be destined to suffer their second defeat in a row.
But Pearman stepped up in the 89th minute to slot away the spot-kick that left Swifts 17th in the Ryman North.
Swifts are in FA Trophy action on Saturday and travel to Ryman Premier side Lewes, aiming to make it into the third round qualifying.
