Pearman's late penalty salvages point for Heybridge Swifts

JOE PEARMAN'S late penalty salvaged a point for Heybridge Swifts as they played out a 1-1 draw with Thamesmead Town on Saturday.

Tyrus Gordon-Young put the visitors ahead in the 14^th minute at Scraley Road and it seemed that Swifts would be destined to suffer their second defeat in a row.

But Pearman stepped up in the 89^th minute to slot away the spot-kick that left Swifts 17^th in the Ryman North.

Swifts are in FA Trophy action on Saturday and travel to Ryman Premier side Lewes, aiming to make it into the third round qualifying.
