POTHOLE spotting is becoming so popular in Brentwood that the Gazette is launching its very own Top of the Pots.

We want you to tell us about the borough's biggest and best craters which will find themselves in our Pot Parade.

Whether it's a new entry or an old favourite, we want you to help us chart these big-hitters.

Have you stumbled across a one-hit-wonder or spotted a real smasher that will have fans falling over themselves with giddy excitement for weeks or even months to come?

The top ten is already taking shape following our front page story about the crater in Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hatch – indeed, it was so pot-tastic, that Essex County Council highways engineers saw fit to paint speed camera lines over it rather than repair it.

National press coverage soon followed as did tales of more potholes, including a shocker in Blackmore which cyclists feared would cause them serious injuries.

Then just last week, potpicker Neil Matheson tipped us off about another possible chart-topper.

This beauty on the slip road which connects the 70mph Southend Arterial Road and Little Warley Hall Lane seems sure to catch the attention of the borough's pot fans.

The county council's £11 million road repair budget means that our Top of the Pots chart will always be changing – so don't delay potpickers, get in touch!

To be in with a chance of entering our top 10, get someone to photograph you with your favourite pothole and e-mail it to editorial@gazettenews.co.uk, or alternatively call 01245 602 733.

Let the countdown begin!
