AN elderly woman's home was burgled with cash and a lottery ticket worth £170 taken by the thieves.
Thieves broke into a property in the Church Road area of Kelvedon between 6.30pm and 10pm on Monday, December 8.
They took cash and a lottery ticket worth around £170 from the woman in her 70s.
Investigating Officer DC Mel Burns said: "The occupant was out at a bingo meeting when the break in took place.
"I would urge people to keep the amounts of cash in their homes to a minimum and be mindful of crime prevention advice, especially this time of year when thieves may try and take advantage of the festive season."
