A SEARCH is under way after a man was seriously injured after being stabbed in Chelmsford this afternoon (December 18).
Parts of Oaklands Park, where Chelmsford Museum is based off Moulsham Street, has been cordoned off following the incident.
An air ambulance, one ambulance and an East of England Ambulance Service officer was sent to the scene and the man was rushed by land ambulance to Broomfield Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said: "Police are at the scene of an assault at Oaklands Park.
"Officers were contacted just after 3.15pm this afternoon after reports a man was stabbed in the park.
"The man was taken by ambulance to Broomfield Hospital and a cordon established at the scene.
"An area search is ongoing for the suspect.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Chelmsford CID on 101." The spokeswoman added there were no further details available at this stage.
