TWO men are being questioned by police in connection with the death of a man in High Ongar on Friday night.
Police were called shortly before 9.30pm following reports that a man had been assaulted on a farm off Mill Lane.
Officers arrived to find a local man, aged in his 30s, with a head injury.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, he died at the scene.
A second man, aged in his 50s and from east London, was also found on the farm site suffering from head injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition.
On the same night, officers arrested a 33-year-old man from the local area at a nearby house in connection with the death.
A 66-year-old man from the local area was also arrested this morning (Saturday) at the same address in connection with the death.
Both men are being questioned by detectives at separate police stations in Essex.
The death is being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish how the man died.
Mill Lane remained closed to traffic on Saturday as a police forensic team examined the site.
