Detectives have appealed for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed at Chelmsford last night (January 7).
Police were called at about 5.45pm following reports of an incident in an alleyway between Waterson Vale and Loftin Way/Gloucester Avenue.
Officers found that a 17-year-old youth from the Braintree area had received puncture wounds to his lower back and leg.
He was taken to Broomfield Hospital but was released several hours later after treatment.
A 17-year-old boy from Chelmsford was arrested in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
He remains in custody this morning.
Forensic investigations in the alleyway continued this morning.
