Police officers search green in Moulsham Lodge after teenager stabbed

AREAS of Moulsham Lodge is Chelmsford remain cordoned off this afternoon as the investigation into the stabbing of a 17-year-old continues.

Essex Police were called at 5.45pm to an alleyway between Waterson Vale and Loftin Way.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a 17-year-old boy from Braintree with stab wounds to his lower back and leg.

Residents of Waterston Vale saw police cars at around 5.50pm patrolling the area, which then moved towards the vast grass area near Goodwin Close.

A dog walker, who did not want to be named, told the Chronicle: "I came out at about 6pm and saw police cars then when I came out again at about 9.30pm the green had been cordoned off."

The grass in front of Goodwin Close and Bawden Way remains under police cordon this morning, as forensic officers comb the area for clues.

A green area along Waterston Vale and Rosseter Close is also taped off.

As of 12.30pm today five police cars and a van remain dotted around the nearby roads as the investigation continued.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to contact them.

In the early hours of this morning a 17-year-old boy from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is still in custody.

The 17-year-old victim from Braintree was treated at Broomfield Hospital and released last night.
