FIREFIGHTERS tackled a house fire then helped an injured man after a road crash in the same street in Witham.
The crew had just finished dealing with a groundfloor blaze in a house in Hatfield Road when there was a collision between a car and a motorbike.
No-one was in the house at the time and no casualties were reported.
The blaze was extinguished by 6.38pm and the crash happened around 20 minutes later as firefighters were about to leave the scene.
The crew gave first aid to the crash casualty until paramedics arrived and the man in his 20s was treated for minor injuries.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said: "He was walking wounded and was not conveyed to hospital."
A fire investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the blaze in the house.
