AN INDEPENDENT recruitment company has celebrated a decade of business in Chelmsford.
Pursuit Recruitment Ltd, now based at Aquila House in Chelmsford, has marked its tenth birthday.
The business, which is owned by Lorraine Phair, was launched in 2002 with the aim of offering a specialist and personal service to both employers and employees.
"I started Pursuit 10 years ago and we also moved into our new offices in August so it was a bit of a launch for celebrating the business, which is a bit of a milestone in this current climate," said Lorraine.
Along with a big birthday cake and an afternoon of entertainment by local singers, Olympic bronze medallist Chloe Rogers, also attended the launch.
"We invited Chloe along and she did the official launch with me," said Lorraine. "We just decided really that it was a way of thanking our clients and our customers for being supportive."
Moving from their original office in High Street, Chelmsford, the company's new offices can now accommodate the increased number of staff working for Pursuit, who ensure that all candidates are interviewed, tested and referenced prior to them being put forward for a job.
"We are considered in our industry as a boutique recruitment company," said Lorraine. "We are a small, independent company.
"You tend to find that the bigger agencies tend to deal with bulk recruitment, whereas we tend to be more specialised. It's more of a personal service really.
"We do the whole kit and caboodle," she added. "You could say we do it properly."
