ESSEX ground to a halt this morning as people in the county woke to find a heavy dumping of snow.
Roads in the county are particularly treacherous and the traffic is already building up in Parkway, Chelmsford.
Many schools have shut, but a lot of schools are opening later because school buses are not running.
A three car pile-up at the Brook Street roundabout in Brentwood is causing problems on the A12/M25 junction, while Essex Police say they have been alerted to 45 crashes already, 10 resulting in injury.
