A HARD-HITTING video has been created by Essex Police to warn of the dangers of drink-driving.
The film supports this year's Christmas anti-drink drive campaign called Don't Take The Chance.
It shows different groups of people who have been out for the evening and take a bus, taxi and train home, but one fateful group of girls get into a car driven by a drunk driver.
Police hope the video will have an impact on younger drivers, who make up a large percentage of those found drink-driving at Christmas.
Casualty reduction manager Adam Pipe said: "We want to educate people that it is never acceptable to go out for the evening in your car and then consume too much alcohol.
"This year's message is for everyone to make plans on how they will get back home, following a night out, by using public transport or a taxi.
"Groups of friends should nominate a driver who will not drink alcohol and be the 'designated driver' for the evening."
