A LONDON 2012 Games Maker from Brentwood is hoping for a Christmas number one.

Stuart Wilks, of Junction Road, is a member of the Games Maker Choir, formed during the Olympics.

The 200-strong volunteer choir performed at Olympic Park during the Games and also featured in BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Sunday.

They have teamed up with singer-songwriter Alistair Griffin to record I Wish For You The World.

Mr Wilks, 37, who worked at the wheelchair basketball venue, said: "I don't think anyone quite expected that we would be involved in a single when we first started."

The construction company manager said: "The whole idea is to provide funding for future Olympians and Paralympians to get training. And the choir gives us an opportunity to keep friends from the Games."

Mr Griffin said: "I wrote the song after being so affected by the Olympics to reflect the amazing year we've had as a nation and when I heard the Games Makers Choir I knew they had to sing it. They're the people who made the Games and this is the people's song."

The song is available to download from iTunes and Amazon.
