Greater Anglia has cancelled 24 trains from Essex into the capital this morning (Monday, February 11) due to late engineering works.
Over-running engineering works last night has resulted in all lines being blocked between Romford and Upminster.
Train services between Romford and Upminster via Emerson Park may be cancelled at short notice.
The rail operator says it will tell commuters when it expects services to return to normal as soon as possible, once the problem has been "fully assessed".
Greater Anglia rail tickets are being accepted on "any reasonable" bus routes – including 165, 248, 370 in the Romford Emerson Park Upminster Corridor.
Trains from London Liverpool Street to Norwich are experiencing 15 minute delays.All lines between Shenfield and Liverpool Street are now open following engineering works.
Greater Anglia reports that some trains could still be cancelled at short notice, delays of up to an hour and disruption until about 11am.
The rail operator posted the following information on its website."Owing to earlier overrunning engineering work all train services to/from Gidea Park, Shenfield, Southend, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich are subject to delays,alterations and cancellation, services were further delayed owing to an earlier obstruction on the overhead line in the Ilford area.
"C2C services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Greater Anglia rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.
"Local bus services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Greater Anglia rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. On TFL buses between Brentwood and Liverpool Street, on routes 498 from Brentwood to Romford, 86 from Romford to Stratford and on route 25 from Ilford to the City of London for Liverpool Street.
"Underground services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Greater Anglia rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. Greater Anglia tickets will be valid on the District and Central lines from Upminster and hainault / Newbury park to Central London."
