Pennyfather prepares for Chelmsford's crucial playoff tie

Clarets boss Glenn Pennyfather was disappointed to finish fifth in the division having said he wants 'nothing less than third place' before Saturdays 3-1 defeat at Farnborough. The loss matches his side against second place Salisbury in a tough play-off fixture in which Chelmsford travel away to The Raymond McEnhill Stadium in the second and decisive leg. A win or draw against Farnborough would have resulted in a fourth place finish and set-up a tie with Dover but Pennyfather admitted that there are no easy games in the play-offs. "You're in there and you have to take whoever you get. We've got Salisbury starting on Tuesday before we go to them on Saturday. We've played them twice this year, beaten them at our place, lost at their place, so it's been pretty even between us. "Any team you get now is a tough game and everybody knows no matter who you get in the play-offs, the team you play deserve every inch to be there. We can't dwell on the loss to Farnborough and we'll have to put that to bed very quickly and move on." Pennyfather was delighted that the Clarets achieved their pre-season goal of making the play-offs and said that his team were more than up for the challenge it will bring. "We don't have much time to get ready unfortunately, as a part-time non-league club we don't have much of an opportunity to prepare. We've had a quick chat and the players won't need any motivating ahead of this one and if they do they shouldn't be playing football. "They should be fully prepared and fully understand exactly what is expected of them and they'll know that. "We'll look forward to it. We'll have to ensure mentally we're prepared and that physically we're fine so that it is just a matter of making sure we perform over the two legs."
