Sixty firefighters tackled a blaze at a diesel storage tank in West Thurrock after it caught fire this afternoon.
Crews in 12 fire engines used foam and a covering jet at the incident at the Vopak Terminal in Oliver Road.
The tank involved was empty but was used to store diesel. Nobody was hurt or had to be evacuated from the scene.
Incident Commander, Station Officer Mark Elliott, said the fire was in the rim seal of one of the tanks.
