Householders have been asked to check their gardens for any discarded weapons after a teenager was allegedly robbed in Colchester.
A 19-year-old is reported to have been threatened at knifepoint on East Hill on Saturday at 4am, and forced to hand over cash and a mobile phone
Investigating officer Dc Seff Manesh, said: "We are looking for a black-handled kitchen knife and a wooden rounders bat, both of which may have been discarded in back gardens or sheds on the Riverview Estate."
Anyone who comes across the knife or bat is urged to contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101.
Two 15-year-old boys have been charged with various offences in connection with the incident.
One appeared at Colchester Youth Court today accused of one count of robbery, one count of using threatening language towards a member of the public causing them to believe they would be assaulted and one count of being in possession of a kitchen knife in public place.
The second suspect been charged with one count of robbery, one count of using threatening language towards a member of the public causing them to believe they would be assaulted and one count of being in possession of a baseball bat in public place.
He is due to appear at Colchester Youth Court on June 5.
